The girls spent the hot morning decorating their bikes before the block party festivities commenced with grilled hot dogs and hamburgers at the pool, hours of slip and sliding, then a pot luck supper and the usual street fireworks and shenanigans. The girls particularly wanted the colored smoke bombs at the firework stand so they could ride through on their bikes with a full dramatic effect. I love everything about the 4th of July.
